UPDATE LZB have shifted our booking to the 20th Nov.
We're at The Coast on Sat night
Howdy Folks.
That was a big night last night.
Not because we drank (I was on cola). Not because we partied (i had half an anxiety tablet before the show, thanks panic attacks) but because we were doing something we love doing, with people we love doing it with.
Luke Escombes original songs are great. Funny as heck. a great way to start the night.
By the time we got up to do our stuff things were primed for a good night.
I was reading an article about 'flow' this week. It's a subject of discussion within the band and I know I've written here about it before. The whole being in the zone thing.
Last night we found a few moments of it and it was wonderful. No matter how hard you try, sometimes you get there, sometimes you don't.
But when you do...
Ahh.
All the songs we didnt get to play on tour and two concert sized sets. Rosie and Bill played some fiendishly good stuff and everything was pretty cohesive.
A result.
After the show, in the backstreets, we had to take a moment and offer some help after we saw something go down. A big shout out to Ms Nancy for flagging down the cops, she gets our bravery award.
Your friends in the Stormcellar don't dig violence, and don't condone it against women or pretty much anyone.
More importantly, as individuals, if we see something, we say something, call the cops, alert those who can help. It's not up to us to judge or get heroic, but we have a duty of care to each other and to our fellow humans to see that we treat each other a little kindly.
Gig shout outs to Cassidy and Michaela, Andy and Candy (im not making this up) and a big thanks to Mis Sal for sound and to Luke for an awesome show.
Howdy folks.
Researsal last night till Mr Wizard blew a valve.
At the Townie tonight we'll have the first chance in a while to
A: do 2 full sets
B: Do all the weird stuff
B: Do all the Igloo Glop Fleebel
C: Do the loud raucous stufff
D: do some new new stuff.
Yeah not just the new non-recorded-stuff but stuff from our KC Underground sessions. New songs.
Only trouble is, that's a lotta words.
Rosie very helpfully pointed out that we have a Lyrics section for that very reason, quite well formatted to Mobiles.
Thank you Internets.
Now all I gotta do is remember the words so I can write them into an article. Y'see its been a few weeks since we recorded them, I havent got a copy of the mixes and well... I already got some bits wrong.
However, as it was us what made them, any 'errors' are now Official Product Enhancements and I woulda made it that way back then if I had got it right.
Yeah I do have a copy of the original words somewhere but they kept getting tweaked during the recording so they're more of a set of guidelines...
That's it, I am gonna go remember them as best I can and type'em up so they're available online wen I need to remind myself of that they might be. I can always fix them after I get the recordings back.
Hello my boys, it's your old mate Roger here, your 'virtual' manager.
Now I know you've given me the 'eave 'o a few times but I keep a backup of all those pictues what I sent you. Now i read that you've been overseas again, but somehow my tickets for the tour must have been misplaced.
Normally I'd be right round with the evidence but I know how hard you've been working and i wanted to do my bit for the cause.
Each year, Australian companies send their top brass to Gold Coast Resorts for three day conferences on strategy, planning and business needs for the coming year.
Well my boys, it's time we joined the big leagues.
I have prepared an entire schedule of discussion groups and plenary sessions.
at the end of which we'll be releasing this white paper
Now dont worry about the costs boys, I've used your card but I'm only sending one delegate, that'd be me.
I'll send you the postcard.
Love
Roger.
Yay our first full length gig in a while. Yay! Plus Luke Escombe.
Late. Weird. Good.Free. Beer. Brill.
Come on out and play. we're back.
We take the most risks at the Townie.
New songs we wrote on tour. Stuff that may or may not go to plan.
Come let's mutate together.
Howdy folks, that was a long drive back and forth for the longview farm festival.
Rosies got a family do tomorrow so he had to be back in town, necesitating a long round trip today. Yikes.
Hours of driving on Aussie roads starting to feel like hours on US roads. Except when you take the backroads to the farm.
Wow.
Anyway. We did our thing. Despite testing, my in ears went wonky (argh) but oh well. Tech sometimes wins.
Mr Wizards gone to recuperate, Bills dissapeared to the South Coast, Jo's on a boat and I'm knackered.
Great venue, wish we could have stayed longer. Lucky bloody Theo is up there eating chicken, drinking champagne and hanging out with his old band mates.
I've been working on some video blogs from the us tour. Just taking me a while to get my groove back. Stay tuned.
Thanks to Luke and Leanne and all the campers at the longview. That was a great return show.
