The boys kindly shifted their recording sessions around this week to give Roscoe some studio time for his 'Contractor Blues'

Howdy Folks.

Its been a busy few weeks, so much so that I am applying some time compression to my blogging....as it has all run into a long blur.

Last week (was it?) and this week ( I think) we did two more SC2 recording sessions, interspersed with a couple of days of recording with Roscoe.

Roscoe tries demo'ing the song to Paul and Jim

Jim and Paul demo it back to Roscoe....with some slight changes.

Thanks to Jim, Paul and Dennis "justice' Aubrey for shifting their schedules to accomodate him.

The last two SC2 recording sessions have been about housekeeping, organising and refining some of the tracks that have already been laid down.

Grahame, Roscoe and Jim editing stuff. ok, Jims editing, the other two guys are watching.

Our next steps are harp and vocals on the current tracks (OMG) and then another rhythm section session.

We also spent a little time despatching the songs that arent going to make the cut for SC2. We are disassembling them into their component molecules for reuse in other songs or for when we run out of ideas, which could be next week for all I know.

RIP "Harajuku Shuffle', 'Find my way home', 'touchdown' (Paul is quoted as threatening me with bodily harm if I post the guide track for this one on the web...which is a shame cos I really dig it, but I have to respect his artististicness-ness), 'Leave some loving for me' and 'shuggle'.

In the original demo sessions, we wound up with about 14 songs. Over the year since we did the guides (pre-release of whiskey talkin') a bunch more got into the set, bringing the total up to about 18 tracks.

That pretty much populates SC2 with a few hold overs, such as 'Sweet Misery' - which never turns out the same way twice. Having figured that out, we decided we should do a live version of it. In fact, a few.  That, plus our friend DDJ's analogue influence gave us the idea of taking the songs that fit together like that and putting them onto an analogue recorded EP. So we shuffled the playlist around for SC2 and created SC3.

Given the different methods of recording, mastering and mixing, the EP may be out faster than the album. Go figure.

So, to keep it simple: SC2 is the second album, in production now, due out mid year. SC3 'Spacejunk  EP' is about to go into production this weekend, ETA, who the hell knows.

More soon!
