The Farthest Shore
From such seeds
Great Trees should rise
when does that southern species
know
flower and bloom
In time of trial
Midst dust
and heat
And fire
Saplings mustered
in long white rows
alone
would grow
bold and free
and wild
that such forests would
adorn now
our parks
in place of
Marble
Stone
And Iron
Yet crown they still the
sky
with towering arch
of limb
and bough
and leaf
that stretch towards a
Farthest shore
their shade
to our relief
