Our First Rider!

Read on for the gig report!

So we recorded the day before then backed it up for the next gig, a four set monstrosity at Club Five Dock.

It was a scorcher outside, so people had taken shelter from the heat and found a perch inside, in the air con, with a beer, to watch the cricket.

Little did they know that a boogie band was about to open up on them.

We had four sets planned out, yet somehow, we managed to forget Roscoes Boogie at Little Big Bird until the last set when Mrose remakred 'how come we havetn played them'...

Argh.

We tried out a few blues faves today, with mixed results. Some worked, some didnt. Due to a clerical error on my behalf, I had one song listed in A, that was in E. That led to some aggrieved guitarists. My bad.

The highlight of the gig was watching a silver haired lady and her friend get up and dance to 'Dont get Around Much'.

We also tried out an acoustic set with the first performance of 'Can't tax Love' a new track that seems to have shuffled past a few others to head for the next album. That was preceded by Glenrowan and Island Time, which was a strange mix of the acoustic arrangement + electric bass and drums.

A shout out to Graham and his lovely missus, and to Anthony for stopping by on his day off.

We have a whole bunch of gigs booked for 2009, our first one kicks off at the Avalon RSL on the 9th of January (check the gig listings for details) and we'll be recording a bunch of stuff between now and then, so keep reading. I gotta go post another !@&*^*  recording session update. Who's damn idea was this to blog?? Oh. mine. Right.

Rgds
