Howdy Folks - much happening, much off screen.

I was pretty lucky to get to the show on Saturday, I had some family health emergency stuff so it was touch and go. Paul took over rigging the Blacklights so big thanks to Mr Wizard and Sal.

I'm glad I made it. It was a cracker of a night and if you weren't there then you missed out. I'm not kidding. We do analysis on How Did We Do and some nights you are the windshield, some nights you are the bug.

But Saturday night, with the weather holding in abeyance until AFTER we had packed out from the show, was a good session. Rosie played some stuff that was quite remarkable and might never be repeated quite the same way. It was spontaneous and excellent.

I am reminded again and again how lucky we are, how rare and precious this thing we do is. I am also reminded that there are a finite number of times we will do it. Every single one is precious. Every single goddamn one.

What we do, we do with others.

On Saturday night, we were surrounded by people who wanted to participate.

The townie was filled with People inside, taking shelter from the most epic weather to hit Sydney in...well...sorry about that. Our agreement with those forces only covered us until Load Out :-)

Ok so the fact that the most Epic part of the storm didn't come on for a while meant that there were still folks on the streets. Oh you brave brave newtownians.

I have to be briefer. Argh.

I wanted to send a big thank you to Betty, the amazing UV Facepaint artist who joined us on Saturday.

It took a little coaxing to get folks to join in but the result was spectacular.

Sage painted our band sign...

We played in front of Glowing Zombies, Neon Tigers, Flowers, 'F__K OFF' grafitti on a cheek :-)

It wasn't a gig, it was an art installation with human canvasses set to music.

Yeah i liked it.

I'll post more pics when I get them. I have some stuff to deal with. Meh.

The place was jumping and we didn't finish until the wee small hours.

Big thanks to Brendon & Hairpin Culvert for joining us, Sal for mixing us, Sage for painting and to Betty for her amazing work.

We all enjoyed that so much we might just do it again.

Meanwhile we're off to Canberra this Friday night at The German Club and I'm back off to the hospital :-)
