Howdy Folks, late night at the boatshed and Ze Vimmen Ver Dancink! Wunderbah!

Ok, I confess, I got rockstar parking. Rosie is gonna kill me. Lets just say that parking in the Manly Corso area is at a premium.

Good solid night last night, firstly big thanks to Pete & Rani & Fred for making the drive over to catch our first gig at the boatshed.

Now sIt back, relax and join me in a quick virtual tour of the night.

This was our first gig at the Boatshed, and it reminds me a little of The Basement, but the steps are steeper :-)

Here's the downstairs area

The food was good too, according to reports! $10 meals are OK by Muso's :-)

Thanks to John for the soundwork last night. A soundo? Luxury! Foldback? Lights??? Where will it all end. Ok, so the lights were in danger of setting off a visual overload (all that flashing and blinking) but still, ooohh...lights!

Here's Repo and Theo warming up for soundcheck.....A Soundcheck??? LUXURY!!

With sounds tested, it was time to hit the Bar/Kitchen and get settled in for the night

$10 meals appeal to Muso's - the food was good to according to reports!

With a 9:30-12:30 slot, we chose the three set format and away we went. The crowd at the OMB comes in waves (pun intended), building up to high tide as the night wears on. By our third set the place was jumping (literally) and I took a few moments of footage from onstage - the lights kind of sent the camera into meltdown.

We continued to road test new material last night, including Texas Rosie, Keeps you moving on and Suit Yourself, which seems to be a remarkably popular new song. There's still some teething problems with the verse (I'm still figuring out how to sing it) but its developing nicely.

The three sets we played last night were all reasonably different - the songs seem to group by album. The first set features a lot from Whiskey Talking, the second is mostly Carl's Chair and the Third is all the Fast Stuff from Nuevo Retro, Spacejunk and Whiskey Talking, plus the faster of the new songs - thank god, as the crowd at Midnight wanted to Dance and it would have been downright dangerous not to oblige.

The presence of people on the dancefloor does wonders for the boys morale, although for some bandmembers (who shall remain nameless) the female dancing patrons can prove somewhat of a distraction.

Good venue, good gig, good crowd, good parking spot (its a Guy Thing). We look forward to going back there!
