Looks like the live recording we did on 2MCE 'Sounds Live' will be on air tonight from 9pm, if you're in the bathurst area go to FM92.3 or 94.7, for the rest of the web, visit
http://www.2mce.org/ and you'll be able to hear us live (pre recorded) in the studio, doing a mix of stuff from various albums, including live versions of songs that will appear on our next album!
What a great night that was. David Roman invited us in for a chat on his Mystery Train program and pretty much let us run riot for the evening :-)
We got to play some of our favourite tracks from our fave artists and Dave gave a bunch of our tunes a spin as well. Cheers Dave.
Dave was running the station singlehandedly tonight and was a consummate professional, here's a few moments of Dave doing His Thing on live radio.
Of course, there were the usual funny signage moments:
and the sign next to the studio building is perfectly innocent...as long as you read left to right.
Dave asked us some great questions and played some good tracks (alabama Train, some Tedeschi Trucks, Los Lobos) as well as doing a retrospective look at our last 4 cd's.
It's interesting to listen to early stuff we did with 'fresh' ears, as we're so used to playing it live we've forgotten how it sounds on the album. Ok, maybe I am speaking just for my own part there, but I'm not ashamed to say that I prefer the current live gig versions of a few tracks, such as 'Mississippi Meltdown' (I like the revised Harp parts).
Be sure to check out Mystery Train on 2SSR on Tuesday nights, from 8pm 99.7FM in the Sutherland Shire or online at www.2ssr.com.au
Pete G's video has led to a few of our Stormcellar-ites emailing me with some of their own choice Youtube moments with a musical theme. Here's one via our good mate Roscoe and his mate Zeaus. Another one to make you grin!
Every now and again you come across something that you simply have to share. Pete G (the guy not wearing a bow tie) has been a long time supporter of our band, and it seems only fitting that we share a video he has just made with his good musical friend Tony Silva. It's heartfelt awesomeness like this that will go viral. This is sure to put a smile on your face.
