Howdy Folks. Well, that's it. We're officially Hip. Oh No, I said it. Damn. Oh well, we were hip for a second there. Ok, so maybe we just played a Hip venue. Is the Sando still hip? You Betcha!

King St in Newtown has been a Hip place for, well, for a while, but over the course of the years, like so many bohemian inner city (ish) enclaves, it has been gentrified, the rents gone up and the Bohemians moved on. Fortunately, it looks like they just moved a little further down King St.

It's still vibrantly artful and colourful. The people still dress in a manner sure to displease parents everywhere (Rebel with your hair!!) and the Sando, a long standing Bastion of the music scene is still kicking it.

As the 'Dude Who Does The Artwork' for the band, I am an avid fan of good posters and OMG, there's been a renaissance of Cool Band Art.

I am gauging the Hip factor by the presence of Adam Pringle on a Tuesday night, and for those that know him, one of the sweetest guitar players of his generation and a Good Bloke to boot. So whilst we may not aspire to the Zaphod Beeblebrox level of cool, the venue is doing a dang fine job of it for us.

The gig yesterday was just fine. A shout out to Mr Tice for dropping by! The boys were in good form yesterday and we had a good turn out, including Fred, Dave, Gayle, Hugo, Danny, Jay and a bunch of folks, including a Power Lifter from Darwin who heard us from across the street and stopped in for the last set. Cheers to all of the folks who came out for the afternoon.

The Amusing Moment of the afternoon (imho) was when the diminutive Bar Manageress forcibly escorted a patron, who was having perhaps too-good a time, from the premises. The guy was definitely dressed for the occasion in Bowler Hat, Beard and Leather Jacket and I am sure meant no harm, but one spills someone elses drink in a pub at ones own peril.

I think we'll back back at the Downstairs Bar at the Sando soon.

Oh yeah, we're on again this weekend, LATE (11pm!!) at the Pendle Hill Inn.

See you at a gig!
