CENSORED BY AGENT SMITH
BREAKING NEWS - F______K YEAH!!
Lynchy's a genius.
Some of the Millage mixes were mono with stereo reverb (wtf), he stripped the fuzz, did some Dark Mastering arts and omg.
I have been blown away by the result.
yeah I am totally utterly biased and unreliable, but I challenge you to hear it. Seriously.
Millage's songs sound like they have stepped straight out of a time warp.
It's a staggering work.
It had a difficult entrance, but it is a rare, rare dang thing. Even the flaws shine.
God bless'us all, every one :-)
Let there be peace.
Howdy Folks.
It's a cold wet week in Sydney and everyone is trading various strains of Cold & Flu. How wonderful.
Luckily we spend so much time together we all got and got over the same things at the same time :-)
Jo made the six hour journey yesterday to come into the studio and add harmonies and backing vocals to 'Nobody Knows Better'. Thanks to Geoff for doing the engineering.
Mr Worsey then made a special trip in to help us mix the final 3 songs for SC8
We can only do what we do thanks to the support and kindness shown to us by so many people. We are greatly fortunate indeed.
I'm also completely stoked about the re-recorded songs that Ben did for us. What a difference.
So now what?
We still have EFLH in the marketplace, what's with 'another' album?
Heh.
I guess I shouldn't mention that we're off to record the ninth album in a few weeks :-)
Ok. Mastering, art, more stuff. Let's keep working!
Howdy folks.
Good result this weekend.
Very good result. What a joy to do it and do it right.
I'm listening to gloriously clean, clear, well balanced mixes. Ben's got a light touch and a great ear.
We kept to the spirit of our original KC recordings, we knocked over three tracks in two days, including mixing.
Ok, except for adding Jo's vocal harmonies, but she was busy this weekend anyway so it's not cheating to add her later. I think.
By putting ourselves on a time limit, we've kept the same simplicity as the originals.

but.
with.
no.
distortion......
Ahhhhh...
So we added some.
Rosie's solo in 'Hey Child' is bat-guano-crazy. We mucked around with harmonics and when he broke the string it just went wild. We left a bunch of the obnoxious fuzz sound in the recording....in keeping with the spirit of our etc etc.
These are not perfect versions these aren't perfect mixes, which makes them...perfect.
Can't share yet, but it's coming.
There's so much to this, from learning how to get more or less what you were aiming for, to the wonderful way in which the internal ecosystem regulates itself - i.e the joy to be had in creative argument as you go back and forth over sounds, feels, performance.
A good weekend, in most excellent company and I'm greatly enjoying the listening.
Last bits to add this week then....then...err...um...well...one thing at a time.
Bravo Ben. Bravo Brother Bill. Good work all. 'Night.
Howdy Folks.
What a great day. I forgot how much we like working with Ben @everlandstudios. We got through three tracks today, with some vocals and some tweaks to come tomorrow.
Rosie broke a string during the recording of 'Hey child' and it forced him into some Crazy Phrasing, it's awesome.
I'm listening to guide tracks right now. Yay!
More tomorrow!
Woot. A good result.
Yesterdays rehearsal did what it needed to do.
We're getting geared up to record 'Chalk Angels', 'Hey Child' and Nobody Knows Better Than Me' as replacement tracks for SC8.
Chalk is good to go, Hey child has improved with a year of development at Live shows.
Mr Wizard wasn't too happy with Nobody Knows Better. The previously recorded version relied heavily on Organ sounds and Mr Wizard believes the song should stand on its own.
When we did the first version, we set it in a key that suited Danny's voice and recorded the version with a guide Vocal.
Now 11 months later, it's back to us to work out what we do with it.
Yesterdays rehearsal paved the way. We changed the key, slowed it down a little, now Mr Wizard is in favour of it.
Just have to work out if we're going to add Organ again.
It's good to be back in the studio. The work continues.
