John at the Blues Underground Network kindly reviewed Carl's Chair and decided it wasnt a Blues album, more Alt Country & Roots. Oh the shame, the ignominy, the...well, he has a point.
Carl's Chair was our Experimental between-albums EP...ok...Album..and so we felt like we had some latitude and well, the songs go where the songs go and...anyway, enough out of me. In an age where you just can't control the media (Wikileaks still owes us a review!! Assange, you never called!) we are just going to have to go with the flow. Here's Johns review:
"There are certainly a lot of unique and creative ideas that lead to not only the names of Albums, but also the way they were recorded. "Carl's Chair", the latest release from the Australian band Stormcellar, is certainly no exception to that rule. You see the title of this Album refers to a chair that is owned by Carl 'Golden Roadie' Silverswaard. The significance of the chair is that it was used as the focal point for the recording of this Album, which was recorded Live "on the porch of 'Burgoon', a 100 year old Farmhouse in Cumnock, New South Wales", June 28th - July 1st, 2010. Carl's Chair, as you might imagine, goes everywhere with Carl and the Band.
Howdy Folks. We spent a fun filled Friday night at the Crown Hotel on Elizbeth St. I took a few shots on a quiet Friday night in town
Mr Wizard has wanted to try doing some music in the Sydney CBD, so with our recent trip to the Manhattan Lounge and now with the Crown shaping up as a regular venue, it looks like we're on the way.
The previous weekends gig with Fettler was pretty special and it would have been hard to top that on Friday, but we gave it our best shot, without the help of one of our Southern Belles, Ms Mika, who joined us for some harmonies
We had a lot of friends come out on Friday so the most important thing I can do is to thank some folks: Oye, Mika, Frank, Ed, Gary, Michelle and Fred, amongst others. Ed last saw us up in Tamworth, so it just goes to show its a small msuical world huh? Cheers guys, thanks for coming out and making the night a good one.

Morning everybody. Yep, its late (early?). Boy was that fun. As Tinka says, Fettler makes everyone step up a level (change in energy states may lead to emitting a photon! Its all quantum at the Bald Rock).
As promised, the Devil Came to White Bay as Fettler sat in for tonights entire set. We were also joined by the formiddable Vicki Nick.
So that's two differnt muso's that basically stole our show, leaving us well pleased with the theft. What a grand evening.
During a quick jam moment I joined the rest of the audience so I could get some footage. Wish I had more, but I still needed to do some playing as well, dagnabbit.
