Rock River out of mastering, going up online
Woot. I am digging the heck out of this ethereal bongo driven piece.
With luck I'll finally be able to post a copy tonight. Yay.
Cheers to Ben at Everland and Lynchy at Shoehorse.

It was beastly hot on the journey from Cairo. if not for the constant stream of G&T's from the little man with the funny red hat, it would have been intolerable. I mopped my brow with Fa Fan's silk handkerchief until it became indistinguishable from the thick air. I let it slip into the Nile where I am certain it was at once swallowed by a crocodile. We decamped near the ancient town of Marrickville to begin our search.
Lord Flattenbubbly was most anxious to get to the dig site which had been cleared away by his workers, revealing the entrance.
What wonders would lurk within?
Dropping out of character...ahem.. Mr wizard and I went Prop Shopping for some videoclip concepts.
Fossicking through the back rooms and basements of Sydneys Film Prop, Recycling and Event suppliers is one of the fun bits in life. The ideas that come to mind as you see random stuff...
Regular 'Cellar Dwellers know that we make our own vids when we can, with what we find, with volunteers and random ideas.
This often means making what we can, rather than what we logically should. However, we have scripts for vids for most of the songs and whenever the planets align, we go get one done.
Sometimes the planets need a little help aligning, or we have to make something completely different from initial planning. We're glad to have at least a small movie industry in Old Sydney Town and a great big arts community to go raiding for treasures and ideas. Shoutouts to Jason and Michael.
And yeah, we'll be making some clips. Wanna be in one? Contribute? use the contact form or email me (hey if you're on the newsletter u got my email addy!).
Jo's with us for the last weekend until Tamworth (sad face) and we're pulling out new stuff again.
So to remind you, we're out there having fun with the whole music thing.
if you find yourself thinking 'hey, that's my whole deal right there, the music and fun thing' then our states coincide and we should necessarily enjoy your company, tomorrow night, in Oatley.
See you there.
Saturday night we're at the Oatley Hotel and Sunday joining the Vegan Ninja's at the CrueltyFree festival.
When we last left our heroes, they'd just completed a run of 8 shows with a spot at the Bloomington Garlic festival and it was time for some well deserved R&R.
Oh Rosie.
The wonderful Pete from back to nature cabins offered to put us up for a couple of nights, which we gladly accepted. You're a legend Pete.
Now they say what goes on tour stays on tour, so I shall keep the mention of the hot tub very brief. There was a hot tub. It really puts farting in the bath to shame. Pants optional.
Also I wound up having to share a bed with Theo, due to a slight bed deficit.
Or so he said.
There may have been spooning.
I cant quite say.
Moving on.
Dave and Marget invted us out for a labor day moment on the water. Theo thought this was just fine by him.
I pretty much knew I was in the right spot instantly. ARRR!!
We ate, drank, swam and jammed.
Bill & Roscoe practised for the KC gig.
In fact, I had a cracker of a marketing idea. 12 months of Roscoe
Here's some R&R Moments on Vid.
The next day we took some down time in the cabins, where Jo decided it was time to play her newly acquired acoustic guitar.
Whilst we absorbed the scenery.
Leaving Bloomington
Bummer.
Breakfast on the way out with Dave. Cheers Dave.
The Indiana leg of our tour was outstanding and our gratitude list too long for entertainment purposes.
We owe a great deal of thanks to Mark and Dave for making it happen, and our great affection goes to all the Hoosiers who brought us such kindness.
Day 15
I knew D-Dawg would be spinning some 78's in KC that Wednesday at an obscure back alley bar. That meant a long drive out of Indiana, back across Illinois, stopping in St Louis for some Zico action (hey Z!) and then making a dash for X's folks place and a night downtown in KC.
Next Ep
Stormcellar comes to KC
'Frank wont stop dancing and drinking with those aussies'
Howdy Folks.
In the studio today working on what we're calling the 'Medical grade' mix (i.y.h.t.a.y.n.k) of Rock River, where we turn all the verb effects up.
Mr Wizard thinks too much verb is for Newbs, so we have a 'clean' mix as well, but I was after something inspired by some early Pink Floyd soundtrack stuff.
I cant share the final Rock River mix yet (so many rules I have to follow sheesh) but here's a great piece of dirty, aural fuzz from the floyd.
